All Souls Anglican Church in Indianapolis is an intergenerational community–all ages worship together during most of our service.
Small children are invited to a separate time of engaging God’s Word and participating in fun activities together during the homily.
We meet at 849 W 96th St in Indianapolis (east of Ditch Rd. & 96th roundabout) every Sunday at 10 am.
Our worship service includes music, Scripture reading, a homily, prayer, and Holy Communion (see below).
Be sure to introduce yourself if you stop by. We would love to meet you!
HOW WE WORSHIP
-
LITURGY
Liturgy means the “work of the people.” Much of our service includes written prayers and praises we say aloud together, rooted in church history and connected to the global church.
-
SCRIPTURE
Every week we read from the Psalms, the OT, the NT, and a Gospel according to a three-year lectionary cycle. The sermon is based on the Scripture of the day.
-
HOLY COMMUNION
We believe that communion is central to worship. It is a participation in the spiritual realities of Christ and his body.
-
PRAYER
Prayer is essential in the life of faith individually and as a community. Every Sunday we have a time of communal prayer as well as time for individuals to receive prayer during communion.
-
FELLOWSHIP
The life of faith happens in spiritual community. People often talk over coffee in our sanctuary, gather monthly for lunch together after church, and celebrate together at special times.
-
MUSIC
In our musical worship on Sundays, we sing contemporary songs, traditional hymns, and liturgical songs together. We often include instrumental songs for times of contemplation.
